As part of the Executive leadership team, the Vice President, Sales North America is responsible for leading and directing the entire North American Sales businesses for the Phillips Distilling Co including sales teams, analytics team and national accounts team.  The VP of Sales is expected to build and guide their organization to meet or exceed their annual operating plans.  The role directs the planning, development and execution of market and customer sales plans, strategies, objectives, systems and procedures to maximize volume and profit growth.  The role also ensures effective relationships at a high level with key customers, distributors, brokers and key stakeholders. 



Essential Duties

  • Build and maintain a high performing team that is motivated, supported, ruthlessly focused against execution and effectiveness.
  • Develop the annual sales plan for the US, Canada and Mexico businesses.  Ensure plan delivers the company goals.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure that the promotional programs, tools and objectives will drive brand sales growth and achievement of the plan.
  • Communicate objectives, expectations and results with distributors.  Ensure accountability.  
  • Relentlessly pursue growth.  Prioritize scalable opportunities to enhance sales performance.
  • Facilitate the development of pricing, promotional and merchandising strategies that ensure achievement of short and long-term goals.
  • Lead a develop a high performing sales organization.  Align the team to deliver the plan and the company mission. 
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (distributors, brokers national accounts, NABCA customers, Canadian provinces).
  • Ensure a culture of legal compliance.
  • Travel required (Domestic & International).
  • Be a positive ambassador for the company and its sales organization.  Lead with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years’ sales management experience in the distilled spirits or consumer packaged goods industries or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Sales management experience must include managing a staff and budget.
  • Must be a highly energetic, positive, creative and self-motivated leader. 
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with other departments, distributors and brokers.  
  • Possess excellent communication (written & verbal) & presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage, coach, and develop a large remote team to success. 
  • Must be competent and effective in preparing and managing a budget and be capable of managing a P&L. 
  • Requires strong analytical and strategic management skills.
