Take your career to the next level at our Edgewater Early Learning Center!

As Assistant Director at our Edgewater Early Learning Center you’ll be responsible for nurturing the hearts and minds of children during some of their most formative years, while instilling in them a dedication to life-long learning.

This position provides an opportunity for an experienced child care professional to make an impact on the diverse community of Edgewater. It’s our goal to have centers that create learning environments where children can flourish, and the Assistant Director plays a crucial role in fostering that atmosphere.

The Edgewater Early Learning Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and provides individualized care for children, including children with special needs, in an environment designed to enhance growth and development.

The Assistant Director will support our teachers as they use the Creative Curriculum to design a learning environment that actively engages children in understanding the world around them by participating in hands-on activities that help develop school-readiness skills. Our after-school curriculum follows the STEM philosophy of enhancing learning by helping children to engage in problem-solving, discovery and exploratory learning through hands-on activities.

The Center also incorporates our Healthy Lifestyles curriculum, which emphasizes healthy eating, exercise and protecting the environment. The center offers a menu of nutritious catered meals and snacks. Children participate in daily outdoor activities and a gym is available onsite for indoor physical activities, exercise and group games.

Our open-door policy welcomes parents to share their time and talents with us. The center offers home visits and two parent-teacher conferences where families can help set goals for their children. Edgewater Early Learning Center also partners with the Ounce of Prevention Fund to provide Head Start services for 3- to 5-year-olds and Chicago Public Schools to provide State Preschool for All and Prevention Initiative Programs.

Our dynamic team has been providing excellence in early childhood education in Chicago’s Edgewater and Andersonville neighborhoods with the highest quality early education and care for more than 30 years. We’re committed to helping you to be the best leader you can be and we hope you’ll consider joining our team!
