Description Do you enjoy working with families assisting in preparing for childbirth? If you answered yes to this question, One Hope United has an exciting Doula opportunity available for you! The Doula will provide continuous emotional, physical and informational support before, during, and after the birth. The Doula will provide community outreach, facilitate prenatal education activities, assist the family in preparing for childbirth through both home visiting and group based services, and will advocate for participant families. The Doula is on call for attendance at Labor and Delivery.

Requirements The successful candidate will have the following:

• BA/BS degree in areas of childcare, early childhood development, education, social services, nursing or related field; or equivalent work experience with families and children.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, complete documentation and reporting requirements accurately and timely.
• Must have dependable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.
• Ability to work flexible hours, some evenings and weekend hours as necessary; must be on-call 24/7 to participant families.
• Bi-lingual Spanish is preferred.


The successful candidate will be:

• Knowledgeable in pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, postpartum and infant care
• Provides information, education, and resources that will prepare the parent and her family for the birth process.
• Attends and supports the mother and her family throughout the birth process.
• Provides community education as necessary.
• Conducts outreach activities throughout the community.
• Must be on call for attendance at Labor and Delivery.
