Description Responsible for continued development of internal and external applications with an emphasis on providing efficient unified systems for internal and external company processes. Coordinate application development and maintain processes for application requests/development and change management. Assist in management of computers and network needs within Nahan. Work on special projects.

Education and/or Experience

  • Four year degree in computer science/related field and/or work experience.
  • Crystal Reports and report writing experience preferred.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop, maintain and support .NET/ASP web, server & client workstation based applications.
  • Evaluate company workflow and propose more efficient systems for internal & external workflow.
  • Develop and support database-based applications for various systems.
  • Research and develop new systems & software technologies to improve workflow efficiencies.
  • Support existing and develop new reporting and report delivery systems.
  • Monitor systems and usage for system workload, training needs, backups, and various logs.
  • Develop integration solutions for ERP and related systems.
  • Coordinate support from 3rd party vendors for ERP-related systems when necessary.
  • Establish & follow application development standards and procedures.
  • Perform maintenance on all related database systems as scheduled, and as necessary (including setting up regular maintenance windows where appropriate).
  • Maintain and monitor database system status to ensure peak system performance and readiness.
  • Suggesting solutions and collaborating with individuals on defining specifications for application development projects.
  • Document Work Orders and procedures.
  • Communicate with Director of IT about status of deployed applications, systems, and upcoming needs and new opportunities in technology.
  • Informs Director of IT of hardware and software needs including submitting purchase requisitions and ordering.
  • Provide support/backup for other IT team members as requested by Director of IT.
  • Develop and maintain web pages.
  • Participate in cross training activities within the IT department.
  • Participate in, and occasionally lead, weekly IT department meetings.
  • Participate in 6S/Lean Manufacturing initiatives. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized area/department.
  • Be cooperative, positive, and respectful with leaders, coworkers and team.
  • Ensure all safety policies are followed and hold a high regard for the safety of others.
  • Participate in proper ergonomic practices as designed for this position.
  • Aggressively seek out opportunities for company and self-improvement.
  • Responsible for informing leader of any concerns that arise.
  • Participate and support continuous improvement activities.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by Leader(s).


Skills and/or Knowledge include the following:

  • Extensive knowledge of application development, databases including .NET development, MS SQL, Visual Studio, general computer and operating systems, hardware, and software.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to organize and maintain project request and documentation process.
  • Knowledge in web development including ASP and .NET frameworks within Visual Studio.
  • Strong communications skills (written, verbal and listening).
  • High degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Flexible in schedule to meet internal/external customer needs. Flexible in schedule to accommodate 24/7 operation including on-call assignments
