Title Sales Solution Engineer

Description The Sales Solutions Engineer at Liaison Technologies plays an essential role in the sales organization and is primarily responsible for providing operational and technical sales support to the field sales team. The qualified candidate works collaboratively with our sales, professional services, customer support, managed services and product management teams. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, sales skills, product vision, market knowledge and strong written and verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in nearly every phase of the sales cycle by providing technical support to the sales team including qualification, requirements gathering, project identification, solution development, business case preparation, technical presentations, and implementation planning
• Be the subject matter expert on Liaison’s products and services for the sales team
• Assist in the development of RFP/RFI responses for prospective customers
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining Liaison’s products and services to customers and prospective customers
• Confer with prospects to assess business needs and to determine project requirements
• Leverage internal tools such as the tech assessment to determine project scope and level of effort required
• Collaborate with sales teams to understand prospective customer requirements and provide sales support throughout the sales cycle
• Support the sales enablement and delivery process to raise the technical knowledge and understanding of Liaison’s products and services for the entire sales team
• Adhere to all internal sales processes and procedures to facilitate a smooth sales process
• Document all activities in SFDC
• Maintain knowledge of market data and competitive analysis to establish winning positioning and competitive tactics for various offerings
• Work with product marketing and product management to disseminate market and product positioning, packaging, messaging, pricing and competitive information to our sales team
• Serve as external evangelist, communicating company and product key messages to external audiences including analysts, media, partners and customers
• Collaborate with our internal MARCOM team to execute product and solution launches
• Play active role in training the sales force through formal and informal vehicles.

Critical Success Factors

• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience in engineering, information systems, or business administration
• Five years of industry experience, including two or more years in sales engineering or consulting
• Proven technology skills, outstanding interpersonal abilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail, plus analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Positive, sales-oriented personality
• Willingness to travel

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of solution engineering in high technology sales
• Understanding of and experience with big data technologies, solutions, and ecosystems.
• Demonstrated ability to position complex technical solutions to the enterprise market
• Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal and presentation.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or computer sciences related field. Master’s degree preferred.
