Title Banquet Waitstaff - Coffee Breaker

The Banquet Waitstaff – Coffee Breaker position is responsible for maintaining the appearance and the quality of coffee break stations by setting up, replenishing and breaking down the food service.

Essential Functions
To perform the Banquet Waitstaff – Coffee Breaker position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•  Set-up coffee break stations accurately ensuring cleanliness, proper set-up and sufficient supplies and equipment

•  Set up hot and cold stations, buffets displaying food/beverage, condiments, glassware and supplies in an aesthetic manner as assigned

•  Maintain an adequate inventory of necessary supplies

•  Remove used glassware and utensils from meeting rooms and refresh as needed

•  Maintain accurate consumption reports to ensure accurate billing

•  Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area

•  Perform proper handling and storage of equipment

•  Prepare food for stations including coffee and cream/milk carafes etc.

•  Anticipate guests’ needs and respond promptly

•  Provide guests with exceptional service in order to achieve customer satisfaction

•  Practice “clean as you go” techniques of service, keeping the station clean, neat and supplied at all times

•  Remove and restock all unused items

•  Wrap and take all perishable food items to the kitchen

•  Other duties as assigned

Language Ability

Work Environment

•  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

•  The position duties are regularly performed in an inside environment where the temperatures are controlled; may seldom perform duties outside where the temperatures may be diverse including rain, heat or cold

Physical Demands

•  Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

•  Regularly stand and talk or hear

•  Frequently walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms

•  Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

•  Safely navigate multiple flights of stairs

Position Status and Availability

•  Available to work a full-time, flexible (AM or PM) shift, Monday - Sunday including holidays

Education and Experience Requirements

•  A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

•  One (1) year of customer service experience

•  At least two (2) years of previous Banquet Server experience in an upscale hotel
