Summary
The Criollo Host/Hostess is the first impression of the restaurant’s establishment, therefore, it is necessary that attitude and appearance create the image we want to be portrayed.

To portray this image, the Criollo Host/Hostess immediately acknowledges all Criollo Restaurant guests at the entrance of the restaurant with a warm and friendly greeting.

The Criollo Host/Hostess seats and presents clean menus to the restaurant’s guests in a friendly, professional and quick manner.

Essential Functions
To perform the Criollo Host/Hostess position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•  Greet and seat guests, present menus to guests, inform them of specials

•  Treat all guest in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction

•  Strive to exceed our guests’ expectations

•  Accurately take names of guests for waiting list

•  Proficient with Open Table reservation system

•  Schedule dining reservations and arrange parties or special services for diners

•  Observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables

•  Take guest information when tables are not immediately available

•  Clean, organize and stock menus at host/hostess area

•  Answer phone, take and confirm reservations and take questions concerning the menu and restaurant

• Interact with guests, acknowledge each person as they enter and leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience

•  Fill to go orders, if applicable

•  Maintain restrooms throughout shift

•  Keep in constant contact with the servers and the kitchen to make sure that operations are running smoothly

•  Other duties as assigned or directed

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for an individual to successfully perform the duties and responsibility of the Criollo Host/Hostess position:

•  Effectively interact and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds

 •   Verbally communicates with quests and phone callers

•  Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members and guests)

•  Multi-tasked oriented

•  Knowledge of workplace safety and procedures

•  Organizational skills

•  Have confidence, self-drive and be enthusiastic

Physical Demands
•  Reach, bend and stoop frequently

•  Lift and carry 20 lbs over medium distances (20-30 feet)

 •  Safely navigate multiple flights of stairs

Computer Skills
•  Utilization of a computer

•  Demonstrate a working knowledge of Open Table reservation system

Position Status and Availability
•  Available to work a full-time, evening (PM) shift, Monday - Sunday including holidays

Education and Experience
•  A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

•  At least two (2) years experience as a Host/Hostess in an upscale restaurant
