Housekeeping Housemen are for cleaning lobbies and bathrooms along with stocking guest rooms with necessary items like soaps, towels and other linens.

Essential Functions
To perform the Housekeeping Houseman position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•  Help maintain and clean rooms, bathrooms and work areas

•  Clean furnishings and carpets

•  Clean and maintain common areas within the hotel

•  Assist guests with questions

•  Replenish supplies in guest rooms

•  Change bed linens and empty trash as required

•  Assist housekeeping staff with laundry removal

•  Ensure quality and clean facilities throughout the hotel

•  Make sure guest rooms are stocked with linens, towels and other furnishings

•  Supply a guest with whatever they need or request

•  Vacuum, dust and mop

•  Assist floor supervisors and executive housekeepers with requests

•  Other duties as assigned


The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the Housekeeping Houseman position satisfactorily:

•  100% of shift involves walking or standing, continuously reaching, bending, lifting, stooping or wiping

•  Ability to communicate clearly with managers and other associates

•  Ability understand and carry out oral and written instructions in English

•  Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds

•  Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time

•  Must have the stamina to at least work 40 hours per week

•  Must possess good organizational skills

•  Professional in demeanor and presentation

•  Ability to learn quickly

•  Must be a self-motivator and able to work with little supervision

•  Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

•  Guest-Service oriented

•  Team Player

Position Status and Availability
•  Must be available to a morning (PM) shift, Monday - Sunday including holidays from 2:30pm - 11pm

Education and Experience
•  A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

•  One (1) year experience in customer service

•  Prior Housekeeping Houseman experience is helpful
