Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor supervises work activities of cleaning associates and contract personnel to ensure clean, orderly and attractive rooms in the hotel. The Housekeeping Supervisor assigns duties, inspects work and investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and takes corrective action.

To perform the Housekeeping Supervisor position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness

• Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service; consult with management to take corrective action

• Obtain list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs

• Perform cleaning duties when required to assist

• Make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation

• Examine rooms to determine need for repairs, furniture or equipment and make recommendations to management

• Advise manager or office coordinator of rooms ready for occupancy

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for an individual to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of Housekeeping Suprevisor position:

• Strong customer service and leadership skills

• Ability to comply with all hotel’s policies and procedures

• Ability to speak clearly, write legibly, perform basic calculations and work well with other associates and contract personnel

• Ability to work weekends and holidays

• Knowledge of the Spanish language is strongly preferred for this position but not essential

• 100% of shift involves walking or standing, continuously reaching, bending, lifting, stooping or wiping

• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and other personnel

• Must understand English

• Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds

• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)

• Must have the stamina to work 50 to 60 hours per week

• Must possess good organizational skills

• Professional in demeanor and presentation

• Ability to learn quickly

• Must be in good physical condition

• Must be a self-motivator – work with little supervision

• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

• Guest-Service oriented

• Team Player

• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed

• Positive attitude and outgoing personality is essential

Position Status and Availability
•  Available to work the full-time, morning (AM) shift with an occasional six (6) day work week:

Monday – Friday – 8:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday, Sunday & Holidays – 9:00am – 5:30pm

Education and Experience

• A High School diploma or a General Education Degree (GED)

• At least one (1) year of housekeeping experience

• Previous supervisory experience
