The individual selected for the Banquet Waitstaff position interacts with our guests and ensures they have a great experience when dining and meeting at the hotel.  Banquet Waitstaff are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner.  At all times, Banquet Waitstaff is expected to be attentive to our guest needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.

Essential Functions
To perform the Banquet Waitstaff position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Banquet Waitstaff position are as follow: 
•  Reviews Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure room are set as contracted; confirms and setup A/V equipment needs to contract for the event

•  Prepares rooms for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed for before guests arrive

•  Assists in ensuring that the events are on time.; make adjustments as needed and relay that information to the appropriate co-associates

•  Passes any information that is needed to the next co-associate team member on duty

•  Ensures proper use, storage and maintenance of all A/V and meeting room equipment

•  Ensures there is proper back up in the event that any equipment is not properly functioning

•  Maintains high standards of safety and cleanliness in all banquet areas

•  Communicates any areas of need, problems and/or concerns from guest to Director of Banquets or Banquet Supervisor

•  If no upcoming events, has a room in a readiness position for any possible site inspections

•  Ensures that meeting rooms are re-set for next event contract if it is within one day of previous event

•  Provides all group guests with a lasting experience of the hotel with intent for return business

•  Maintains proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses

•  Delivers alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for service to customers’ table

•  Properly opens and pour wine at the tableside

•  Performs basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by Banquet Supervisor

•  Greets all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting

•  Adheres to grooming and appearance standards consistently

•  Understands and can communicate products and services available at the hotel

•  Other duties as assigned

Math Ability
The individual selected for the Banquet Waitstaff position must demonstrate the ability to:

•  Add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's

The individual selected for the Banquet Waitstaff position must demonstrate the ability to:

•  Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

•  Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Work Environment

 •  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

 •  The position is regularly located indoors in banquet setting where the temperature settings are controlled

Position Status and Availability
 •  The individual selected for the Banquet Waitstaff position must be available to work a full-time, flexible (AM or PM) shift, Monday - Sunday including holidays

Education and Experience
 •  The individual selected for the Banquet Waitstaff position must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and

 •  One (1) year of customer service experience

 •  Previous Banquet Server experience
