Summary
The Overnight Bellman delivers luggage to and from hotel rooms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Overnight Bellman position are as follow:   

•  Transfer trunks, packages, and other baggage to room or loading area

•  Arrange for outgoing freight, express or mail shipments, computes charges, tags article, and records information such as addressee, addressor, carrier and charges on specified forms

•  Supply guests with information on hotel services and amenities

•  Deliver requested amenities to guest rooms

•  Supply guests with travel information such as transportation rates, routes and schedules

•  Escort incoming guest to room

•  Arrange for cleaning, laundering and repair of guests' clothing and other items

 •  Compute charge slips for services rendered guests and forward slips to front desk

•  Perform related services as requested by guest or manager

•  Deliver Room Service orders to guest

•  Deliver guest bills by placing under the door

•  Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The Requirements Listed Below Are Representative Of The Knowledge, Skill and Ability Required

Language Ability
• Effectively communicate and interact with people from diverse backgrounds

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

•  Write simple correspondence

•  Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and co-associates of the hotel

Math Ability
•  Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

•  Compute rate, ratio, and percent

•  Craw and interpret bar graphs

Reasoning Ability
•  Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

•  Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Work Environment
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

•  The duties of this position may require working outdoors in adverse weather to include cold, heat and rain

Physical Demands
• Regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds

• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

•  Regularly stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear

• Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Position Status and Availability
• Available to work a full-time, overnight (PM to AM) shift, Sunday – Saturday including holidays

Education and Experience
• Possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• One (1) year of customer service experience

• Previous Bellman and/or Doorman experience highly preferred
