Title Assistant Transportation Manager

The Assistant Transportation Manager is responsible for supervision of others in managing, coordinating and maintaining the operations of the Monteleone and Solaris Garage parking facilities in an efficient and courteous manner in accordance with all hotel and Parking Authority guidelines and standards.

Essential Functions
To perform the Assistant Transportation Manager position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•  Manage, implement and supervise all daily parking operations of the Monteleone and Solaris Garages

•  Organize, maintain, and reconcile various financial records, both manually and through automated methods

•  Manage claims process, limit liability and maintain overall safety in the Monteleone and Solaris Garage Parking facilities

•  Train, supervise, counsel, schedule and evaluate Monteleone and Solaris Garage associates

•  Assist in setup of special event parking programs

•  Balance accounts and assists in preparing reports and statements

•  Provide technical assistance and work direction to Monteleone and Solaris Garage associates

•  Upkeep maintenance of garage parking electronic pay revenue control equipment

•  Ensure and monitor upkeep and maintenance of Monteleone and Solaris Garage facilities

•  Operate office equipment (e.g., computer terminal and peripheral equipment, calculator, copier, etc.)

•  Assist in collecting, recording and depositing revenues received at the Monteleone and Solaris Garage facilities

•  Prepare special reports in connection with fiscal records as assigned or required

•  Work special projects as assigned or required

•  Perform activities, functions and other related tasks and duties as assigned or required

•  Administer and maintain lease (monthly) parking program at Monteleone and Solaris Garages

•  Maximize and account for all revenue at Monteleone and Solaris Garages

•  Verify payroll to ensure accuracy and to ensure the payroll period is 100% correct for all Monteleone and Solaris Garage associates

•  Other duties as assigned

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for an individual to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Transportation Manager position:
•  Knowledge and skilled in maintenance and the up keep of a parking facility

•  Knowledge and ability in the use of a calculator, computer and software applications

•  Knowledge of record-keeping procedures and practices

•  Some knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and ordinances related to cashiering operations

•  Some knowledge of personnel policies and procedures

•  Ability to operate and maintain electronic revenue control equipment

•  Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holiday

•  Ability to operate automatic and manual (stick shift) transmission vehicles

•  Ability to direct the work of others

•  Ability to log information and make mathematical computations quickly and accurately

•  Ability to maintain records and to prepare accurate reports and correspondence

•  Good written and communication skills

•  Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally

•  Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions

Certificates and Licenses
•  A valid state issued driver’s license with no driving violations issued within the last two (2) years

Supervisory Responsibilities
•  Directly supervise all garage associates at the Monteleona and Solaris Garages

•  Train, counsel, schedule and evaluate all Monteleone and Solaris Garage associates

Work Environment
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

•  The work location is located in a parking garage facility

•  The working temperatures and conditions may vary including working outdoors in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold or rain)

Physical Demands
•  Regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds

•  Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds

•  Regularly stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle or feel

•  Reach with hands and arms

•  Talk or hear

•  Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

•  Safely navigate multiple flights of stairs

Position Status and Availability
•  A full-time, flexible (AM or PM) shift, Monday - Sunday including holidays

Education and Experience
• A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)

•  At least one (1) year of customer service experience

•  At least two (2) years of supervisory experience in a parking garage setting
