Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, LLC (MDL) is a CLIA certified clinical laboratory with multiple state licensing, specializing in state of the art, automated DNA based molecular analysis of a variety of chronic and infectious illnesses. The Metabolic Disorders Team within the Institute of Metabolic Disorders at MDL has an opening for a MS level Research Associate with a background in Metabolic Disease Pathology. The Associate hired should have some expertise in protein purification, assay development and high throughput screening experience is a plus. The Associate hired will work closely with our drug discovery group (venenumbiodesign.com) to progress several novel targets for treating lipid-related pathologies. In addition to having broad expertise in molecular biology methods and biochemical techniques, the successful applicant must be highly motivated, able to carry out independent research projects, while reaching milestone and time-line goals of drug discovery platforms. New MS graduates are encouraged to apply, but at least 3 years of bench experience is preferred. Peer-reviewed publication of work, presentations at national meetings, and development of intellectual property are highly encouraged at MDL. |

Manage the design, conduct, and reporting of projects
Conduct objective research that generates independent, high quality and reproducible results
Maintain laboratory notebook and laboratory records
Generate project reports, presentations, manuscripts and patent applications
Attend and present at team meetings
Qualifications:
MS in a relevant scientific discipline is required.
Candidates will have verifiable bench skills in one or more of the following: Molecular and cellular biology; Biochemistry; Gene cloning and expression; Culture and handling of human cells; Cell-based assays to monitor cancerous phenotypes; Assay development and high throughput screening a plus (HTS).
