General Summary

Gas Technology Institute (GTI), a leading research and development organization serving energy markets, is seeking a Reservoir Engineer with 5 – 10 years’ experience with enhanced oil recovery within shale environments.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Carry out field and reservoir studies with EOR focus and perform reservoir-engineering functions including decline curve analysis, material balance, volumetric, pressure transient analysis as applicable to EOR.
  • Support exploration teams in evaluation of projects including construction of economic models, probabilistic estimation of EOR potential, play analysis, production forecasting and evaluation of possible development scenarios.
  • Perform risked economic assessments including decision tree analysis.
  • Conduct all business activities in agreement with GTI core values.

Required Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on time, on target, with quality and sustainability.
  • Experience working with reservoirs in shale environments and/or assessment of large unconventional resources databases and EOR would be considered a plus.    
  • Candidate should be able to demonstrate experience in developing industry contacts, good communication skills and presentation skills, and working within a team environment. 
  • Proficiency in reservoir management and development practices including EOR in shale, material balance, field development planning, reservoir surveillance, reservoir performance modeling and production forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess potential for successful EOR processes in shale formations


Education and Experience Desired

  • BS in Engineering, advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct Reservoir Engineer/EOR experience
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
