Summary 

GTI delivers engineering development research services to the Natural Gas Industry.  Current work is to develop a distributed sensor ecosystem that can provide utility system operators with real time information. In addition to design work, responsibilities would include lab testing with bench instrumentation. GTI seeks an enthusiastic and curious Electrical Engineer to assist a multi-disciplinary team in these developments.

The Electrical Engineer will participate in the development of connected, embedded systems that capture data from sensors and other sources to be forwarded to web-hosted analytic systems.  The candidate will work closely with those team members developing the database and analysis portions of system.  In addition to hardware skills, the position requires knowledge of communication protocols and standards such as 802.15.4g, LoRa, Web Sockets, AMQP, and MQTT.

Requirements

Requirements: 

An Electrical Engineer with background in embedded sensor systems with wireless or wired connectivity is sought.  The right candidate will have a hands-on approach to developing and debugging hardware prototypes. The ability to utilize Rapid Application Development (RAD) platforms, such as Arduino or Nucleo, to provide quick demonstration prototypes is sought.  The ability to work within an integrated hardware and software team to satisfy customer requirements is critical. Flexibility to adapt to multiple tasks and projects is needed.


Desired Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Embedded programming using C or C++ environment
  • Familiarity with STM, Atmel, Texas Instruments, ESP32 architectures
  • Wireless protocols such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE, LoRa, 802.15.4g
  • LabVIEW data acquisition and testing
  • Analysis using R, MATLAB, or Python
  • Analog signal conditioning for sensor support


Other skills:

  • Background in digital signal processing
  • Embedded Linux development experience
  • Micropython development experience
  • Campbell Scientific datalogger experience
  • SPICE circuit simulation
