Job Duties:

Independently complete assignments involving characterizing/quantifying methane emissions from natural gas systems, leak detection and monitoring technologies, sensor platforms, advanced data analytics, and risk analysis. Projects include a wide range of engineering and scientific research from initial studies and concept development through design, instrumentation, testing and analysis, and prototype development.  Duties include: conceive, plan, and conduct research in problem areas with considerable scope and complexity; apply in-depth knowledge to problems that require unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques; author technical papers and proposals; assess feasibility and soundness of experimental approaches, techniques, and equipment; identify new technical and/or business areas of activity that will attract significant work to the company; prepare research proposals; manage projects that adhere to project scope, deliverables and budgets; actively participate in professional organizations; attend safety training, safety meetings, and apply safety standards; provide technical expertise and leadership to research teams; and work with current and prospective clients to understand needs.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical) plus 10 years work experience in engineering field; in lieu of bachelor’s degree plus 10 years experience, employer will accept Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical) plus 7 years experience in engineering field
  • 5 years of experience with methane emissions, data analytics, pipeline integrity, and risk assessment/modeling; natural gas infrastructure and operations and environmental compliance and regulations; development of technology solutions from conceptual to prototype stage, including experimental and field evaluations; and statistical, programming and analytics tools (e.g., R, Python, Tableau)
  • Experience may be gained concurrently
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization
