Seasonal Snow Team Member- On-Call

Join the team that keeps the Runways and Roadways safe for the traveling public! As a member of the Winter Operations Team, you have to be ready for a storm at all times. The team is divided into 3 primary areas; Street side, Ramp and Airfield; with over 60 different types of snow equipment to maintain the safe operations of the airport. Some storms last multiple shifts and even days. Members work 13 hour shifts and are given 11 hours of rest away from work. Members will also have the opportunity to schedule time off during the winter season. Meals and rest breaks are also provided when storms persist. The work continues through the end of the storm and all areas are clean, including getting the equipment ready for the next snow event. If you work all the required shifts then you are also eligible for a completion bonus on top of your hourly pay. Airfield Snow Removal

Positions will require a valid CDL Class B with a current Medical Card. Prior snow removal experience preferred. Prior CVG airfield experience is necessary. (Salary $20.00 per hour + $5.00 per hour retention pay* = $25.00 per hour)

Airfield Ramp and Roadway Snow Removal

Positions will require a valid CDL Class B with a current Medical Card. Prior snow removal experience preferred. (Salary $17.00 per hour + $5.00 per hour retention pay* = $22.00 per hour)

Parking Lots and Sidewalks Snow Removal

Positions will require a valid driver's license with a current Medical Card. Prior snow removal experience is preferred. (Salary is $15.00 per hour + $5.00 per hour retention pay* = $20.00 per hour)

* Retention Pay - additional hourly rate retroactive for all worked hours provided the employee responded to every call and attended all required training. Minimum accumulative retention pay = $1,000.00.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Applicants must be able to train for 8 hours a month from October through March and come in as requested for snow removal;
  • During a snow removal operation, flexible 13 hour shifts could be required;
  • Applicants must have the physical capacity to do manual work and in extreme temperatures;
  • Applicants must maintain SIDA (Security Identification Display Area) clearance.
