Description GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The primary purpose of this position is to support private placement portfolio compliance, credit monitoring and pricing activities. Major responsibilities include tracking borrower compliance certificates to contractual covenant requirements, updating financial statement models, assessing trends by borrower and executing portfolio pricing at periodic valuation dates. The position has responsibility for the execution of several exceptions based portfolio maintenance activities focused on comprehensive monitoring of the entire portfolio and the early detection of potential adverse credit/borrower trends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Updates financial statement models including financial covenant compliance calculation
• Monitors borrower, industry and portfolio trends including maintaining covenant compliance tracking and credit ratings
• Maintains data and accuracy of Private Placement database and PAM Masterfile
• Serves as liaison with IT to maintain and update Private Placement Database
• Executes middle office actions in support of transaction activities including deal funding/closing procedures
• Generates portfolio statistics and reports
• Maintains borrower files
• Completes periodic portfolio valuation activities
• Assists with continuous improvement activities
• Assists with revisions/enhancements to department models
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None required for this position.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, engineering or related field from a four year college or university.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, financial reports, and legal documents from regulatory agencies, and other members of the business community.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply to practical situations.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts to tasks.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:

CFA designation is desirable. Expectation incumbent will work toward CFA designation.

• Ability to maintain company attendance, punctuality and dependability standards as stated in the company handbook.

• Ability to work cooperatively and successfully with co-employees, borrowers, and other external parties.
• Ability to successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL TASKS:

• Position requires attention to detail and accurate decision making sometimes under tight time frames. The role monitors condition of sizeable credit exposures and is expected to assist in early detection of potential problems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Position does not require working near moving mechanical parts or working in high, precarious places.

• The typical noise level for the work environment of this job is Moderate (examples:
business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

• Specific job duties affected by these environmental conditions include an open office environment.

MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Position requires keeping track of significant amounts of financial data. The incumbent must possess the ability to assimilate and interpret company, country and industry trends to develop an informed option. Position requires strong verbal and written skills for successful communication with peers, management and external borrowers.

• Requires the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Multiple projects may be in process at any single time which requires the ability to comfortably switch attention as required.

• Position requires the maintenance of relationships with research peers, accounting and senior management. Likewise, the position requires external contact with borrower management teams.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• A positive, can-do attitude is important as there are occasional tasks requiring completion that are not necessarily part of the position’s mainstream responsibilities.

• Position requires solid math skills, sound reasoning abilities, high attention to detail, and problem solving skills.

• Analytical and substantial spreadsheet aptitudes are important to the success in this role.
