General Description of Duties: Under the supervision and in collaboration with the Warehouse Supervisor, the Driver will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of collecting donations, and/or responsible for the safe operation of program vehicles while transporting donations. Reports repairs needed on vehicles daily to immediate supervisor. Maintaining and cleaning all equipment, including ensuring transport vehicles are clean, working properly and safe to operate; Providing information to the Site Supervisor on food donations and assist in completing and maintaining all documents pertinent to the overall operations, and transport vehicles including accurate documentation related to mileage, vehicle maintenance, donation count and fuel consumption; Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have basic computer skills. Must have strong organizational, written, problem solving, verbal communication and time management skills. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with internal and external customers of Adelante. Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors and co-workers. Have the ability to maintain harmonious, courteous, and considerate relationships, while fostering a collaborative teamwork environment with both agency employees and the public.
Other Requirements: Must pass background and pre-employment drug screening. Must possess a valid NM driver’s license, and proof of auto liability insurance. Must have own reliable transportation and agency insurable driving record. Must be able to sit, perform keyboarding functions occasionally. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder(s) frequently. Will be required to visit various locations in order to carry out the essential job duties.
