General Description of Duties: The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, of the Storehouse food pantry’s programs and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, and community outreach. Will be responsible for leading the Storehouse, in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors. Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions. Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position. Formulates and executes strategic short and long term fundraising plans to meet the Storehouse’s annual operating budget and initiatives including the planning and implementation of various fundraising events, board development, major gift solicitation, corporate and foundation solicitations, and corporate and annual direct mail campaigns. Must have the ability to create strong Community relationships including but not limited to developing an extensive network of contacts within the community to facilitate fundraising efforts, implement annual public relations programs, and maintain contact with associated networking.
Education and Training: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and five years' experience in high level management position required. Master's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. Knowledge of non-profit management strongly preferred. Knowledge of the principles, practices used in developing and executing marketing, public relations, community outreach program and fund development, and entrepreneurial management strategies. Must have experience in donor development, community relations, and government relations. Must have experience with developing an annual budget. Must have the ability to effectively handle time management, and execute multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, in order to meet demands on time. Must have excellent computer skills, including a high proficiency in Microsoft Suite. Display superior skills with verbal and written communication including public speaking. English Language reading, writing, and verbal communication skills are required in order to perform the essential functions of the position.
Other Requirements: Must have valid NMDL with a clean Agency insurable driving record, reliable transportation, and be able to pass a background check, and drug screen. Must be able to sit, perform keyboarding functions, and utilize a calculator continually. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulders frequently. Must be able to carry, lift 10 lbs. occasionally. May be required to visit various locations in order to carry out the essential job duties. Adelante is a drug free workplace.
