General Description of Duties
This position will perform vacuuming, trash removal, sweeping/mopping floors, dusting, restroom cleaning, carpet cleaning, hard floor maintenance, general grounds maintenance, and window cleaning. Performs striping, waxing, buffing, dust mopping, damp mopping of floors and carpet care as scheduled; cleans buildings including offices, hallways, meeting rooms and classroom; assists in the maintenance of floor care equipment as needed; cleans, sanitizes and restocks restrooms; delivers supplies and materials as needed. Removes trash from buildings; secures buildings as needed, and other tasks as required by the assigned contract.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Floor care experience required. Two years custodial work experience preferred. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with internal and external customers of Adelante. Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors and co-workers.
Must pass TB test and background check and drug screen. Must have reliable transportation, a valid NM driver’s license, and an Agency insurable driving record. Must have strong attention to detail and quality, and the ability to apply them. Must be able to remain on feet for approximately 90% of the workday. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. frequently. Must be able to operate equipment (vacuums, buffers, extractors, etc.), continuously for several hours at a time, and be able to climb ladders for cleaning purposes.
